Australia Indigenous Claim Six-Wicket Victory Over Vanuatu in PacificAus Sports Cricket Invitational Day 3, Match 6

Port Moresby, PNG-: Day 3 of the PacificAus Sports Cricket Invitational and the Australian Indigenous Women's cricket team stands undefeated with a confident six-wicket win over Vanuatu Women in today’s (Tuesday 17, June) match six, clash at the Amini Park in Port Moresby.

Chasing 95 for victory, the Australian side reached the target in 18.4 overs, finishing on 95 for 4, thanks to a disciplined team performance with both bat and ball. Earlier, Vanuatu Women were restricted to 94 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

The standout performer with the bat was skipper Rachel Andrew, who anchored the innings with an unbeaten 56 off 54 deliveries, including seven boundaries.

With the collapse of the middle-order resulted with wickets tumble quickly, as Vanuatu slumped from 27 for 2 to 27 for 5 in the space of three balls, with Ella Hayward snaring a sensational break for Vanuatu innings. Hayward finished with figures of 3 for 17 in 3 overs.

Opening bowler Australia Indigenous team's Callee Black also made an early impact, claiming 2 for 19 off her 4 overs, while Grace Abdy chipped in with 2 for 12, including key middle-order breakthroughs. The Australia Indigenous team paced their chase steadily.

Despite losing four wickets, they always remained in control of the required rate, comfortably reaching the target with eight balls to spare winning the match.

This result sees the Australia Indigenous Women continue their strong showing in the PacificAus Sports Cricket Invitational, while Vanuatu will look to regroup for remaining match days on Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21 June.
