Black Bass Captain Sese Bau Reflects on ISUZU T20 Smash

Port Moresby, PNG – The Captain of the Black Bass and seasoned Barramundis allrounder, Sese Bau, has expressed pride in his team's effort in the grand final at the 2025 ISUZU Men’s T20 Smash on Saturday 17 May, Amini Park.

Bau was awarded player with the most wickets during the tournament grand final throphy presentation. He highlighted the broader development of cricket talent across Papua New Guinea seen during the tournament.

Bau, who was named Player of the Match in three consecutive games from May 10th,11th and 12th May, including Saturday's outstanding batting display, Sunday's bowling performance, and a commanding all-round showing on Monday, credited his team for their collective effort.

Bau, a left-handed batting allrounder and right-arm offbreak bowler, emphasized the impressive talent on display throughout the tournament, particularly from emerging players across the country. “As a Barramundi, it’s great to see so many talented players from other provinces and Port Moresby cricket competing at this level.

Some of the players are the best from their regions and have had the opportunity to play alongside national players, which is a great experience for their growth.” He further underscored the significance of the ISUZU T20 Smash as a platform for youth development and national team selection. “This tournament is very important. It gives young players a chance to showcase their skills and grow their cricket knowledge.
